Fraud Coalition Adds New Voice To Fraud Fighting Efforts


WASHINGTON, Feb. 6, 2015 – The Coalition Against Insurance Fraud has hired Steven Murphy as broadcast intern. He will develop and air a weekly podcast series discussing fraud trends and issues, and how they affect consumers and anti-fraud efforts.

imageMurphy is completing a double major in broadcast journalism and international relations at American University.

Murphy has a wide array of experience. He works part-time as an administrative assistant in American’s University School of International Service program. Previously he was an Integrated Marketing Intern for Memunatu Magazine, a nonprofit working to empower and educate girls in Western Africa. He also served as a legislative lntern to U.S. Rep. Congresswoman Chellie Pingree. His interests include broadcasting, social media, foreign affairs economics and journalism.

The Coalition Against Insurance Fraud is a national alliance of insurers, consumers and government agencies combating all forms of insurance fraud through public awareness, advocacy and research. The Coalition was founded in 1993.
