Couple allegedly claims prior Louisiana hail damage was new

May 16, 2018, Monroe, LA — A Monroe Fire Investigator and his wife have been accused of defrauding an insurance company.

Louisiana State Police say that David and Dana Hill tried to scam their insurer over hail damage.

The warrant affidavit alleges that the Hills bought a 2002 Volvo that had un-repaired hail damage in February of 2017.

They then filed an insurance claim saying that it had been damaged in a hail storm. The insurance company totaled out the car and wrote the hills a check for roughly $3,200, which they deposited into their bank account.

Both got out of jail little more than an hour after booking.

Dana Hill posted a $13,000 bond.

David Hill posted a $2,500 bond.
